Our Clergy and Staff

The Rev. Dr. William L. (Roy) Hills, Jr. began serving at St. James-Santee effective 21​ September 2020.  He is a native of the Carolina Lowcountry, growing up and living for a number of years in Mount Pleasant.  Father Roy was on the faculty of the College of Charleston prior to his ordination in 1990.  He served several congregations in the Diocese of South Carolina as interim rector, associate rector, rector or supply clergy prior to becoming Priest-in-Charge of St. James-Santee.  Father Roy and his wife Elizabeth (Betty) currently ​reside in McClellanville. ​

Ms. Tanner plays the organ, piano, and hammered dulcimer. She recently retired after many years as a Special Education teacher at Conway High School, Horry County Schools. ​

Ms. Dodson plays harp and piano. She started working at St. James-Santee in January 2021. While working as a physician assistant and medical writer, she also finds time to teach piano at the McClellanville Arts Council.
